Mood Click is meant to be used at a glance and with a single tap. This page lists what the app offers for different needs and how to turn it on. On your iPhone, the settings are under Settings → Accessibility.
All controls are labelled: start and stop (the whole screen), the Tap Ring, the three wheels for sound, tempo and meter, the symbols at the top, and the accent dots. Swipe up and down to set a wheel. For the Tap Ring, the actions menu locks and unlocks it. In the accents sheet, VoiceOver reads the meter, the beat and its current strength for every dot.
First say “Show names” to see the names of the elements. Then, for example:
Tap Start, Tap StopTap Tap RingTempo increase, Tempo decrease, Tempo increase by 10, Tempo decrease by 10Sound increase, Sound decreaseMeter increase, Meter decreaseTap Accents, Tap InfoThe app follows your text size, including the large Accessibility sizes. Sound, tempo and meter are then stacked and labelled. The accents sheet, the backgrounds sheet and the tutorial grow with it, and the tutorial scrolls. The Home Screen widget uses fixed text sizes.
With Increase Contrast, the background gets darker, the Tap Ring stronger and the symbols at the top fully white. Numbers and wheels are easy to read in the standard look already.
With Reduce Motion, the opening animation in the tutorial is skipped and the woodpecker in the animations stays still. The wave animation when the Tap Ring is locked is skipped as well.
In the accents sheet, the strengths (Strong, Light, Normal) also differ by a mark inside the dot, not only by color.
The app is always dark.
Locked functions carry a lock symbol and, for VoiceOver, the label “Needs the unlock”. Tapping it opens a card with the name of the function, one explanatory line and two buttons: “Unlock all features” and “Restore purchase”. Both are labelled buttons; “Not now” closes the card. At the largest text sizes the extra line under the title is left out, the picture gets smaller and the card can be scrolled.
The tuner is free. VoiceOver announces the note and the deviation. The microphone is only active while the tuner is open. The three beat displays are purely visual and hidden from VoiceOver; the click itself is the information. The volume bar at the screen edge can be set with VoiceOver (swipe up and down) and offers the action “Choose output”. With Reduce Motion on, the dot of the beat display stands still.
